"M" is for moron

Republican Party in the US misspelling the word "conference" ON THEIR BANNER as they set about trying to attract "working class white Democrats" by insisting on English language-only initiatives. Oh the irony...

"Isn't this Right wing in this country in a nutshell?" asks Cenk Uyger of The Young Turks. More of Uyger's pointed and funny presentation of this latest act of small-minded conservative idiocy is here on Youtube.

  1. It's just a prelude to the real conferenece in Argentininia disguised as a stroll with an Apple Asian mountain girl.

  2. Well at least one Republican doesn't think speaking Spanish is all that bad.

  4. The standards have dropped a bit in the GOP. I don't think they're even trying anymore.

  5. Yes, Japanese.
Took me years of living there plus constant effort to acquire fluency in it. As some concepts only take form in language, it's very mind-broadening.

  6. Japanese is impressive. I have enough problems with Spanish and that's in the same family. I learned some Japanese when I was doing their martial arts. But, just hello, thank you and some of the basics.

  7. People often learn smatterings of a language from martial arts.
I've done a bit of Philippine fighting recently and had to learn some new words, but I don't know which of that family of languages is being most represented.
