Election day
Election day. Two more soldiers killed in Afghanistan.
Private Grant Kirby, father of two, previously served in Iraq. Private Thomas Dale, on his first deployment.
Gillard says "The mission in Afghanistan is a dangerous one... The mission is a vital one."
I apparently don't understand war. WWII was finished in 4 years for the US. Korea - 3 years of "active war." Vietnam - 8 years, Iraq has lasted over 7, Afghanistan almost 9 years.
I find it incredibly curious that the more advanced we become in our war-waging capabilities, the longer wars last.
Because it's all about "something else" Bob. How can we the public know this war will never end with a "win", but our supposedly smart president and crew keeps this war going, for what?? I've said it before and I mean it, if Obama doesn't bring the troops home from Afghanistan I will not vote for him in 2012. I just hope a dem runs against him cuz I surely wouldn't vote republican either!
It's not worth it Magpie. The whole bloody war stinks to high heaven and something sinister is going on I do believe...
