Accumulating years
"Forty Nine Years - One night's dream. A lifetime of prosperity - A cup of sake."
Hi Sue, it's actually winter here in Australia and where I am it's the coldest it's been since 1996. I'm hanging out for some warmer weather.
Tnlib, I think it was actually his death poem (and just one version of the translation of course). Haiku were called Hokku till the 19th century and I don't know if they were formalised that much prior to the life of Basho who lived about 100 years after Kenshin. I like your new avatar.
Hi Magpie, just swooping in to say HI!! Beautiful picture, Hope you are having a nice summer in your beautiful Australia!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo. Too many syllables to be Haiku. Maybe not meant to be a poem?
